64 People – And Just Scratching the Surface
Our family held a reunion about 10 years ago in Virginia where we Goodman kids were born. We invited aunts, uncles and cousins. We had 64 people – and we didn’t nearly get them all!
Other reunions held over the years are all memorable events. Sometimes those memories are laced with the challenges of housing, feeding, moving and entertaining the masses. But in the end it was always worth it. We are blessed to have an understanding of the importance of family.
The Family Lodge is an outgrowth of that understanding and our desire to aid other families in developing relationships that go well beyond the current generations. So as part of our continuing efforts we have developed a guide to Preparing for Your Stay at the Family Lodge.
Finding a Place Was Easy – Now We Have to Plan It!
The purpose of the guide is to help families organize and plan their stays. In it we ask essential questions and provide helps in answering them.
- Who is coming?
- Where will we sleep?
- What will we eat?
- What do we need to bring?
- What are we going to do during our stay?
The guide is a PDF that can be easily downloaded and printed. We have included sample pages to give you ideas of how to use the forms. Each form can be found separately under our Helps and Guides menu on the website.
Encourage all families attending your reunion to create their own crest or brand. Creating a Family Banner is a great way to jump start the bonding that is sure to take place during your stay. You are welcome to hang your Family Banners on the second floor banister above the Great Room.
It doesn’t need to be extravagant, it just needs to be your family’s.
